Panelists representing urban forestry and climate will discuss the current state of Missoula’s urban forest and how it’s affected by a changing climate, and the beneficial relationship between the urban forest and our water resources.
The panel will also focus on Missoula’s drier, hotter, longer summers: what the community is doing and what each of us can do to stem the effects of climate change.
Moderator: Karen Sippy, Executive Director, Trees for Missoula
Panelists: Nick Silverman, Research Scientist, University of Montana
Jamie Kirby, MT State Urban & Community Forester, DNRC
Amy Cilimburg, Executive Director, Climate Smart Missoula
