Journey to the World's Southernmost Tree The tree is a Nothofagus betuloides, Magellan's beech, a type of tree first collected by Captain Cook’s team. Tree rings place its age at 41 years. Its diameter is 10 centimeters, or four inches. It stands about three feet high. From there it bends sideways and grows through the grass. Karen SippyJuly 9, 2020 Facebook0 Twitter Pinterest0 0 Likes
